Junior/Senior Art Framer
This role is open to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents only. Since 1924, Sultan Maricar Frame Maker has protected what matters most: artwork, textiles, heirlooms, and memories. We don't just make frames. Every piece is assessed before anything is cut, and we apply the right materials and method for how long the piece needs to last. That's what four generations of craft looks like. We're looking for an Art Framer who can operate our core machinery independently and take real ownership of the framing process. We're open to both junior and senior candidates — your level and pay will be matched to your demonstrated experience and skill. Core responsibilities (all levels): Operating mitre saw, CNC machine, and underpinner with minimal supervision
Independently assessing and executing framing canvas, paper, textiles based on material and customer requirements
Cutting glazing, matting, and mounting methods for each piece appropriately
Maintaining machinery and workshop safety standards
On-site work as needed: deliveries, installations, supplier pickups
Light in-shop customer support
- Carpenters with similar experience are welcomed too.
Additional responsibilities for Senior candidates: Teaching and mentoring junior framers on machine use, technique, and quality standards
Identifying and implementing process improvements to boost workshop effectiveness and efficiency
Acting as a point of quality control for complex or high-value pieces
What we're looking for: Demonstrated ability to operate mitre saw, CNC machine, and underpinner independently
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Learning mindset, open to feedback, keen to deepen technical skill over time
Comfortable with dusty, manual labour and a fast-paced environment
Careful with detail and precision
Reliable, punctual, clear communicator
Preferred for Senior consideration: Able to teach and grow junior framers, patient, clear communicator, invested in others' development Track record or clear ability to improve operational processes for efficiency and effectiveness Compensation Range: S$1,900 – S$4,500 per month, based on demonstrated skills, experience, and (for Senior) leadership/process impact Working hours: Between 11am and 7pm (minimum) up to 11am–9pm (maximum), including a 1-hour lunch break and two tea breaks Application instruction: Send a short note on your framing/machine experience (mitre saw, CNC, underpinner), your availability, any teaching or process-improvement experience if applicable, via email (salman@sultanmaricar.com.sg) with subject line "Art Framer Application — [Your Name]."
