About the Role

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth, client acquisition, strategic partnerships, and market expansion for The Restore Capital.

This is a hands-on commercial role that combines business development, relationship management, telesales, pipeline management, and strategic execution. The ideal candidate is not simply a relationship manager or salesperson, they are a strong commercial operator who can identify an opportunity, develop the business case, engage decision-makers, negotiate effectively, and close the deal.

The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership to develop new markets, build strategic relationships, and create a predictable and scalable business development pipeline across Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Business Development & Revenue Growth

Identify, research, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across Nigeria.   Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with the company’s revenue and growth objectives.   Build a strong pipeline of prospective clients, partners, investors, and institutional relationships.   Identify opportunities across corporates, SMEs, high-net-worth individuals, institutions, and other relevant market segments.   Develop tailored proposals, pitch decks, commercial presentations, investment summaries, and other business development materials.   Lead commercial discussions, negotiations, and deal structuring in collaboration with leadership.   Drive opportunities from initial contact through qualification, proposal, negotiation, closing, and onboarding.   Identify opportunities for new products, services, partnerships, and revenue streams.   Develop strategies to increase customer lifetime value through upselling, cross-selling, and repeat business.

  1. Telesales & Direct Sales

Conduct consistent outbound calls to prospects, decision-makers, warm leads, and existing contacts.   Convert qualified leads and inbound inquiries into meetings, opportunities, and closed business.   Maintain a disciplined follow-up process across calls, email, WhatsApp, virtual meetings, and other appropriate channels.   Develop and maintain prospect lists and targeted outreach campaigns.   Clearly communicate the company’s value proposition and address customer objections.   Meet agreed monthly and quarterly activity and revenue targets.   Continuously test and improve sales approaches, messaging, and conversion strategies.

  1. Pipeline & CRM Management

Build and maintain a healthy and measurable business development pipeline.   Manage prospects through clearly defined stages of the sales funnel.   Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads, contacts, opportunities, activities, and deal status within the CRM.   Monitor pipeline movement, conversion rates, deal velocity, and sales performance.   Provide accurate revenue forecasts and identify potential risks to achieving targets.   Ensure no qualified opportunity is lost due to inadequate follow-up or pipeline management.

  1. Client & Strategic Relationship Management

Establish and maintain trusted relationships with key decision-makers and business stakeholders.   Serve as a key commercial contact for assigned clients and strategic partners.   Understand client needs and identify appropriate solutions and opportunities.   Develop relationships that generate repeat business, referrals, and long-term partnerships.   Proactively identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts.   Work with internal teams to ensure a smooth client experience from acquisition through delivery.

  1. Market Development & Strategic Partnerships

Identify new geographic, industry, and customer segments for expansion.   Research market trends, customer needs, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.   Build strategic partnerships that can accelerate customer acquisition and revenue growth.   Represent The Restore Capital in relevant business, financial, investment, and industry ecosystems.   Develop relationships with associations, professional networks, institutions, corporate organizations, and other potential referral or distribution partners.   Provide market intelligence and recommendations to leadership to support strategic decision-making.

  1. Reporting & Performance Management

Track and report on business development and sales KPIs on a weekly and monthly basis.   Prepare pipeline reports, sales forecasts, business development updates, and management reports.   Analyze sales performance to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.   Maintain visibility on lead generation, conversion, deal value, revenue, client acquisition, and retention.   Make data-driven recommendations for improving commercial performance.

  1. Brand Representation

Represent The Restore Capital professionally at conferences, exhibitions, networking events, business meetings, and industry forums.   Develop and maintain a strong professional network that supports business growth.   Communicate the company’s value proposition confidently to prospective clients, partners, and stakeholders.   Contribute to strengthening The Restore Capital’s credibility and visibility within relevant business and financial ecosystems.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.   5+ years of proven experience in business development, sales, commercial strategy, relationship management, or a related role.   Experience within financial services, investment, capital markets, fintech, professional services, real estate, or other B2B commercial environments is highly desirable.   Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding revenue and business development targets.   Proven experience generating leads, managing sales pipelines, negotiating, and closing deals.   Strong experience with outbound sales, telesales, inside sales, or direct client acquisition.   Experience developing commercial proposals, presentations, and business cases.   Strong understanding of CRM systems, sales funnels, pipeline management, and sales performance metrics.   Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.   Strong commercial judgment and ability to identify viable business opportunities.   Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.   Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.   Willingness to travel for business meetings, events, and client engagements when required.
