Junior Accountant
Responsibilities:
Transaction Processing: Record daily sales, vendor invoices, inventory purchases, and operational expenses in the accounting software. Accounts Receivable & Payable: Manage customer/distributor balances, track weekly debtor and creditor schedules, and follow up on outstanding payments. Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile daily bank lodgments, statements, and cash books, ensuring any discrepancies are reported and resolved. Inventory & Asset Support: Assist with tracking stock movements, maintaining the fixed asset register, and computing monthly depreciation. Statutory Compliance: Help prepare schedules for statutory deductions like Value Added Tax (VAT), Withholding Tax (WWT), and Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) to align with Nigerian tax laws.
Requirements:
Higher National Diploma (HND) in accounting, finance, or a related field. 1 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within retail, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), or distribution. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and computerised accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or SAP). Student membership or active progression toward professional qualifications like the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or ACCA is an added advantage
