Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Prepare management accounts and financial reports for executive decision-making. Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded. Perform monthly bank, supplier, customer, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Accounting Operations:

Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Review and approve accounting entries and journal postings. Monitor cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for business operations. Maintain fixed asset registers and oversee depreciation schedules.

Budgeting & Financial Analysis:

Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor budget performance and investigate variances. Analyze financial performance and recommend cost-saving initiatives. Support management with financial modelling and business analysis.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure timely preparation and filing of tax returns (VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT, etc.). Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, and regulatory agencies. Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax laws, and financial regulations. Support internal and external audit exercises.

Internal Controls:

Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and accounting policies. Identify financial risks and recommend control improvements. Support fraud prevention initiatives and strengthen financial governance. Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.

Team Support:

Supervise junior accountants and finance officers. Provide coaching and technical guidance to finance team members. Collaborate with other departments to improve financial processes.

Requirements:

Minimum of a BSC 5 years of previous experience in a similar role

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Timely preparation of monthly management accounts. Accuracy of financial reports and reconciliations. Timely tax filings and statutory compliance. Reduction in accounting errors and audit findings. Effective cash flow management. Budget variance within approved limits. Timely completion of month-end and year-end closing.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics , or a related discipline.

ICAN, ACCA, ACA , or equivalent professional qualification is required.

Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience.

Experience in Financial Services, Manufacturing, FMCG, Real Estate, Construction, or Professional Services is an advantage.

Strong understanding of IFRS, taxation, and financial reporting standards.
