Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and ensure all financial transactions and records are complete, accurate, and up to date. Develop and monitor project budgets and costs in collaboration with project managers, track materials, labour, subcontractor and site expenses, analyse budget-to-actual variances and ensure costs are properly allocated to individual projects to support profitability analysis. Manage accounts payable and supplier transactions, including verifying invoices against approved LPOs, delivery documentation and contracts, processing approved payments, reconciling supplier accounts and ensuring transactions comply with established procurement and approval procedures. Manage accounts receivable and client billing, including preparing invoices based on agreed project milestones or contracts, maintaining accurate customer accounts, tracking outstanding receivables, and following up on overdue payments. Monitor cash flow and treasury activities, prepare cash-flow forecasts based on operational and project requirements, manage petty cash and reimbursements, and provide management with timely information on liquidity requirements. Coordinate payroll and staff-related financial transactions, including monthly salaries, allowances, deductions, reimbursements, and expense claims, ensuring appropriate documentation, authorization, and accurate recording. Ensure statutory and financial compliance, including applicable taxes and VAT requirements; maintain appropriate financial controls and supporting documentation; and prepare financial records and schedules required for internal or external audits. Maintain accurate records using the organization's accounting software and financial systems, prepare periodic management reports, and recommend improvements to financial controls, project costing, procurement tracking, and accounting processes.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree/HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. Professional accounting qualification or progress towards ICAN, ACCA, ANAN or equivalent is an advantage. Minimum of 2–3 years' relevant accounting or finance experience. Practical experience in financial reporting, bookkeeping, reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Experience with budgeting, cash-flow management and payroll administration. Practical experience with project costing and cost monitoring is desirable. Experience working in an SME, construction, architecture, interior design, property or project-based organization would be advantageou s Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls. Bank and account reconciliations. Accounts payable and receivable management. Knowledge of relevant Nigerian tax, VAT and statutory requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Tally or similar applications. Strong numerical, analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
