Electrical Estimator

My client is seeking an experienced Bid Estimator to join their growing team in Waltham Abbey, supporting the delivery of competitive and commercially robust tender submissions across electrical compliance, planned maintenance and social housing contracts. The successful candidate will have strong electrical estimating experience, with the ability to prepare accurate cost models for EICRs, electrical remedial works, emergency lighting, smoke alarm installations and wider maintenance programmes. You will take ownership of bids from initial review through to submission, ensuring all pricing is commercially sound, technically compliant and aligned with business objectives.

This role would suit someone with a strong understanding of public sector and social housing contracts, including framework agreements and procurement processes. Working closely with operational, commercial and bid teams, you will assess tender opportunities, obtain and evaluate supply chain quotations, identify project risks and develop winning pricing strategies. A sound knowledge of Schedule of Rates pricing is essential, particularly NHF SORs, and applicants should be confident building estimates that accurately reflect labour, materials, subcontractor costs and project risk.

To be considered, you must have previous estimating or bid estimating experience within the electrical, compliance, construction or maintenance sectors, alongside excellent commercial awareness and strong Excel skills. Experience within social housing, local authority or public sector environments is highly desirable, as is familiarity with NEC/JCT contracts and framework-based bidding.
