The Hockey Shop is looking for a skilled Sewing Machine Operator to join our Team Sales Production Crew at our Langley, BC production facility. You'll be a key part of our custom uniform team, sewing tackle twill names, numbers, and crests onto hockey jerseys and making sure every team order is finished to our premium standard. Responsibilities:

  • Stitch tackle twill name bars, numbers, and team crests onto hockey jerseys and uniforms securely and accurately.
  • Measure and align names and numbers before stitching to keep entire team orders consistent.
  • Attach sponsor patches, sew on jersey fight straps, and complete minor alterations and repairs.
  • Operate and maintain our sewing machines, keeping them threaded, clean, and running properly.
  • Help with heat pressing as needed, including vinyl lettering, DTF transfers, and pre-heating twill.
  • Work with the production crew to count garments, check order details, and get finished orders ready for customers.

Requirements:

  • Previous sewing experience is required, on either commercial or home (domestic) sewing machines.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to align materials precisely and work with small components.
  • Comfortable sitting at a sewing machine for extended periods.
  • Capable of occasionally lifting boxes or garment bundles up to 40 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a production environment with some noise and heat from equipment.
  • Able to read order specifications and communicate clearly with the team in English.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Assets:

  • Experience sewing tackle twill or decorating sports uniforms.
  • Heat press experience.
  • Basic graphic design knowledge to help prep artwork files.
