About Our Opportunity

Reporting to the District Bridge Engineer, the Engineering and Survey Technician conducts a broad range of surveying and engineering related duties in conjunction with the administration, maintenance and construction of highways and bridges.

Primary Accountabilities

The Engineering & Survey Technician conducts survey duties including vertical and horizontal highway alignment, design, collection, completion and presentation of data collected in the field, preparation of plans and determining quantities of materials used. In addition, this position will aid a Bridge Inspector in performing regular Inspections of structures across the District. May also assist in contract supervision and the day-to-day supervision of District Bridge Crews while Co-ordinating logistics such as scheduling, determining quantities, acquiring materials, arranging traffic control and other services required for the bridge crews' daily operations while ensuring compliance with the Department's safety program and that work completed meets contract spec
