Senior Fundraising Officer

Location: Blackburn

Salary: £28,000–£38,000 (DOE)

Our client are a well-established masjid in Blackburn delivering a major community development. To support this project and strengthen long-term sustainability, we are seeking an experienced Fundraising Officer with proven results and existing contacts across the charity, community, or faith sectors.

This is a strategic, relationship-driven role suited to someone who already knows how to raise significant funds, build donor networks, and deliver successful campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead fundraising for both the masjid and the new project
• Use existing contacts, networks, and relationships to accelerate income generation
• Grow standing orders, monthly giving, and long-term donor commitments
• Secure business sponsorships, corporate partnerships, and major donors
• Plan and deliver fundraising events, donor dinners, and community campaigns
• Produce digital fundraising content (social media, WhatsApp, email)
• Manage donor pipelines, pledges, follow-ups, and CRM records
• Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual fundraising targets
• Support Ramadan fundraising and major seasonal campaigns

Essential Experience

• Proven fundraising experience in charity, community, faith, or non-profit sectors
• Existing contacts or networks that can be leveraged for fundraising
• Demonstrable success in raising significant funds (£100k+ annually preferred)
• Strong relationship-building and donor engagement skills
• Confident approaching individuals, businesses, and major donors
• Experience organising fundraising events or campaigns
• Strong digital communication and social media capability

Desirable

• Experience working with Muslim community organisations
• Knowledge of charity governance and donor stewardship
• Ability to produce fundraising reports and income forecasts
