Product Support Placement - Martin Audio

Based: High Wycombe Type: Full-time, 12-month placement Salary: £26250 pa

The Role:

You will join the Martin Audio Product Support Group (PSG) and work directly alongside our product support engineers. The role will involve hands-on technical support work including system design, product demonstrations and customer-facing applications advice, and could extend to off-site and event work as your training develops.

You will receive training in our core processes and methods, and be expected to support a range of technical and customer-facing tasks across the Product Support Group, working under the guidance of the Product Group Manager.

The Role:

In the initial stage the tasks will include:

• Designing operationally optimum systems using proprietary in-house simulation software
• Presenting system designs to sales and/or customers
• Providing information for inclusion in tender documents, in standard Martin Audio format
• Applications advice and first line of support
• Product demonstrations
• Liaising with Sales and Engineering over new product designs
• Identifying and reporting sales opportunities
• Supporting visitors during exhibitions and other marketing events
• Reporting on product performance strengths and weaknesses

As You Progress:

It is anticipated that after a period of training the candidate would be able to extend the tasks and responsibilities to:

• On-site support of Martin Audio concert PA systems
• On-site commissioning of projects
• Liaising with and advising audio consultants
• Organising and presenting training, internally and externally

Requirements:

Degree Course: Acoustics, Audio Engineering, Audio Technology, or a closely related subject.

A good knowledge of sound system acoustics and a keen approach to problem solving are required. Experience with modern DSP and amplifier platforms, and familiarity with measurement systems such as EASE, SMAART or Systune, will be an advantage.

Job Conditions:

You are expected to work 37.5 hours per week, over the standard working hours of 8.45am to 5.30pm, Monday to Thursday and 8.45am to 4pm on Friday. An hour is allowed for lunch Monday to Thursday and 45 minutes on Friday. You will be expected to work at the head office site in High Wycombe part time each week.

You will report to the Product Group Manager.
