Business Development and Partnerships Director (Payments)
Business Development Director (APAC – Payments) A growing payments technology business is seeking an experienced business development leader to drive regional expansion across APAC. The role will focus on developing strategic partnerships, expanding the ISV ecosystem and accelerating growth within the unattended payments segment. Based in Singapore, the successful candidate will work closely with customers, payment ecosystem partners and internal stakeholders across the region, with regular APAC travel required. Some of the key responsibilities will include: Drive business development across APAC, with a focus on expanding the ISV ecosystem and growing the unattended payments business.
Identify and develop strategic partnerships and new customer opportunities across unattended payments, vending and related payment solutions.
Develop and execute an APAC ISV strategy, building and strengthening relationships across the technology and payments ecosystem.
Work closely with card schemes, acquirers, payment service providers and other strategic partners to generate new opportunities and strengthen market presence.
Develop go-to-market and growth strategies, including pipeline development, revenue forecasting and regular business performance reviews.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior customers and ecosystem stakeholders, identifying opportunities for long-term commercial growth.
Collaborate with internal product, technical and commercial teams to deliver customer solutions and resolve complex business issues.
Represent the organisation at industry events and partner engagements, strengthening the company's presence and relationships across the APAC payments ecosystem.
To be eligible for this role you will require: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
At least 15 years of relevant experience within the payments industry, with a strong background in business development, strategic partnerships or ecosystem development across APAC.
Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem, particularly ISVs, acquiring, unattended payments, vending, POS solutions and related technologies.
Established relationships with payment ecosystem stakeholders such as card schemes, acquirers, ISVs, payment service providers or channel partners would be advantageous.
Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to develop go-to-market strategies, build new business opportunities and establish new commercial verticals.
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across different cultures. Fluency in English is essential; Mandarin or other Asian languages would be advantageous, together with willingness to travel regularly across APAC.
