Job Description

  • Lead and oversee the branch’s middle and back-office functions, including Accounting, Operations, Middle Office, Administration, and Information Technology.
  • Manage and supervise all HR and personnel matters for local staff.
  • Support the General Manager in branch management and serve as acting head of the branch when required (equivalent to a Deputy CEO role in external communications).
  • Ensure smooth branch operations through organizational management, strategic planning, and workplace improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct meetings, coordination, and reporting with Head Office departments in Japan.

Job Requirement

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a senior management position at a Japanese bank.

As the Branch operates under both Japanese and Singapore regulatory frameworks, candidates should possess a strong understanding of Japanese banking regulations, internal policies, and governance requirements, as well as experience in complying with Singapore banking regulations and regulatory requirements.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in organizational and people management.

Candidates should have demonstrated the ability to manage personnel and organizational matters in a managerial role. Experience should include managerial-level responsibilities equivalent to section manager level or above.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in strategic planning, business planning, process improvement, or related management functions.

Candidates should have experience in developing operational and management frameworks, implementing new initiatives, reviewing existing processes, and improving operational efficiency while taking local regulatory requirements into consideration.

  • Native-level proficiency in Japanese.

Required for meetings, discussions, coordination, and reporting with Head Office departments in Japan, where Japanese is the primary business language.
