Bar Manager

Premium Gastro Pub | Berkshire | Salary: £40,000 + Tronc

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bar Manager to join a highly regarded, premium food-led pub and restaurant with rooms in Berkshire.

This is a destination-led establishment with a strong reputation for quality food, excellent drinks and genuinely high standards of hospitality . The business is chef-led and places a strong emphasis on quality, consistency and delivering an exceptional guest experience.

We are looking for an ambitious and hands-on Bar Manager who is passionate about drinks and hospitality and who understands what it takes to operate a busy, high-quality bar within a premium environment.

The role

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the bar
• Lead, motivate and develop the bar team
• Maintain consistently high standards of service and hospitality
• Drive drinks sales and maximise revenue
• Oversee ordering, stock control, GP and wastage
• Develop and maintain an interesting and commercially successful drinks offering
• Work closely with the senior management and kitchen teams to ensure a seamless guest experience
• Support the wider operation and lead by example on the floor
• Help develop and maintain the reputation of the business as a leading destination for food, drink and hospitality

The ideal candidate

• Previous experience as a Bar Manager, Assistant Bar Manager or senior bartender
• Experience within a premium gastro pub, high-end restaurant or Michelin/Rosette environment
• Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktails and premium drinks
• Commercially aware with a good understanding of GP and stock control
• A natural leader who enjoys developing a team
• Passionate about hospitality and delivering excellent service
• Confident, personable and comfortable working in a busy, quality-driven environment
• Someone looking for a long-term opportunity where they can make their mark

Experience within a Michelin-starred, Michelin Guide, 2/3 Rosette or high-end gastro pub environment would be highly desirable.
