Your daily life On a cutting-edge Bordeaux Campus, between ocean and vineyards, we design and develop systems, equipment, and services to guarantee the success of our customers' airborne missions.

On the Thales Bordeaux Campus, we design, develop, and deliver systems, equipment, and services to ensure the success of our customers' airborne missions, in the fields of transport, surveillance, and combat. The SAF Competence Center (Aeronautical Software Functions) of Thales AVS France is looking for an experienced HMI Software Engineer M/F, in CDI based in Bordeaux. We will welcome you into our team, whose mission is to develop the graphical interface software for cockpits, allowing the pilot to fly their flight while interacting with the machine. Our ambition: to connect man and the autonomous machine to an open, constantly evolving ecosystem. Our working methods are based on Agile principles, where autonomy, initiative, and adaptability are key. We are committed to respecting work/life balance in a climate of trust and flexibility. Within a human-sized team, you will be responsible for the development of HMI functions, graphical software components (GUI Engine, 2D, 3D, OpenGL), and HMI creation tools, allowing our customers to have a level of autonomy for our various Cockpit or Headset solutions. You will be required to design in Co-engineering with systems teams to better capture and understand operational needs, to implement, to integrate, and then to verify the software in a simulated environment and then on real equipment. As performance requirements are a major challenge in developing graphical software, the solutions developed must integrate into resource-constrained embedded platforms (CPU/GPU, memory). Understanding the project context will give you a medium/long-term vision of the challenges and perspectives. The incremental development of the product, oriented towards functions/operations, with continuous deliveries, will allow you to understand the importance of your achievements for the pilot and how they operate your HMIs; all of this will contribute to giving meaning to your actions. You will have the opportunity to work in an integrated team within an international and multicultural context.

Who are you?

  • With a Master's degree (BAC+5), do you have extensive experience in software development in C/C++ on constrained real-time platforms?
  • Do you have very good knowledge of DO178C?
  • Are you comfortable with English and consider cultural difference a real opportunity to grow humanly and professionally?
