Let's build a future of trust together Thales is a world leader in high technologies specializing in three business sectors: Defense & Security, Aeronautics & Space, and Cyber & Digital. It develops products and solutions that contribute to a safer, more environmentally friendly, and more inclusive world. The Group invests nearly 4.5 billion euros per year in Research & Development, particularly in key innovation areas such as AI, cybersecurity, quantum, cloud technologies, and 6G. Thales has nearly 85,000 employees in 65 countries.

Our commitments, your benefits - Success driven by our technological excellence, your experience, and our shared ambition

  • An attractive compensation package
  • Continuous skill development: training paths, academies, and internal communities
  • An inclusive, caring environment that respects employee work-life balance
  • Recognized societal and environmental commitment

Your daily life: We provide and support systems for the management and protection of airspace. We work with passion within a modern architectural framework, striving to push the boundaries of technology in our key sectors. Located south of Paris, our site is easily accessible by public transport.

The Algorithm, Simulation & Performance department's mission is to define and design algorithmic solutions that guarantee the performance of weapon systems required by customers. To achieve this, system simulations are used to develop these algorithms and perform performance evaluations. These simulations also allow for the preparation and replay of field tests. They therefore intervene throughout the entire life cycle of weapon systems, from the bidding phase to operational maintenance.

Within a team, on a complex project related to defense systems, your missions will be as follows:

  • Define the requirements and architecture of the reference system simulation
  • Identify/develop this simulation
  • Develop the key operational algorithms of the solutions
  • Industrialize (test/verify/develop) these algorithms
  • Evaluate/verify system performance (equipment, system, subsystem)
  • Support the preparation and execution activities of real-world tests
  • Calibrate reference simulations using real-world data

Your profile: With solid experience in designing algorithmic solutions, you have good knowledge of numerical methods, signal processing, or automatic control. You are capable of proposing relevant modeling to address physical simulation problems. You master the development of complex systems (defense, aeronautics) and know how to find innovative or state-of-the-art solutions based on needs. You have developed your skills in Matlab / Simulink and have advanced knowledge of software engineering principles (software configuration management, continuous integration). You have a good level of English.

Knowledge of software engineering languages, technologies, and tools desired: Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, ADA, GIT, Gitlab, JIRA, Doors, Polarion, continuous integration, Jenkins, Sonarcube, Polyspace...

Ideally, you are familiar with specific issues in the defense sector: radar and optronic sensors, communication systems, L16 tactical data link, command and control systems, defense networks, missile fire control, ...

Sensitive to "Cost-Quality-Deadline" and the Design to Cost approach, you are comfortable with oral and written communication. You enjoy teamwork (co-engineering) as well as autonomy. You possess an ability to adapt, to propose (continuous improvement), and to act in a constrained environment.
