Infrastructure Engineer
Responsibilities
Integration of the solution elements in a logical and controlled manner to evaluate the design, behaviour, interactions and performance to confirm that the requirements against which the solution has been designed are fulfilled. Product installation, configuration, validation and handover of equipment to systems integration teams locally or on customer sites. Contribution to design documents, solution specifications, acceptance test procedures and other associated documentation to align with project objectives and participating in the product integration and verification phases. Supporting the planning and coordination of program hardware integration activities and delivering hardware integration services for systems and/or sub-systems of products. Contribution to infrastructure testing activities to demonstrate the solution satisfies the user requirements Participating in Design Reviews with customers. Identifying risks and proposing effective solutions. Building and updating a material List of Supply (LOS) to complete a selected design, solution and project. Estimating labour effort and material cost to complete a selected design and solution when required Supporting bids when required. Ongoing development and hardening of the SOEs in accordance with system design, security requirements to meet the operational functional and security objectives. Ongoing automation of the SOE deployment and configuration, Creating and Updating design documentation. Support in the design input to the Role Based Access Control (RBAC) model at the SOE / infrastructure layer. Device monitoring configuration Remote control configuration. Support to the integration teams to troubleshoot and develop the solution Support to the test teams for the development and execution of test campaigns. Attend meetings and workshops as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Qualifications
Degree in Engineering, ICT or related discipline
Essential Experience
- Experience with the Red Hat Linux Operating Systems, including Kernel configuration, driver packages, performance tuning, hardening and automation
- Experience with Automation Tools (Ansible).
- CI/CD experience with technologies like Jenkins, Travis, Octopus.
- Experience of scripting languages like Python, Perl, YAML and Shell.
- Familiarity with a wide range of computer and networking hardware, preferably HP, Cisco and Lenovo.
- Knowledge of network protocols and principles such as TCP/IP, VLANS
- Understanding of hardware integration and testing processes.
- Practical experience of validation and integration of hardware components on large, complex, software-based systems.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to write clear and concise documents that clearly articulate complex technical detail.
- Creating and Updating design documentation.
Desirable:
Good knowledge of Air Traffic Management systems
