Data Infrastructure / Platform Engineer

We’re looking for a hands-on Data Infrastructure / Platform Engineer to build and operate a scalable, secure and highly reliable data platform at Thales.

You’ll work across Cloud, Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code and modern Data Platforms , turning infrastructure into a self-service platform that developers and data teams can rely on.

What you’ll do:

• Build scalable cloud infrastructure using Terraform and GitOps
• Design and operate production Kubernetes platforms and distributed systems
• Build and manage data services including Kafka, Apache Iceberg, Trino, Airflow and PostgreSQL
• Develop self-service capabilities so teams can provision data services without manual intervention
• Implement security, governance, RBAC, observability and FinOps across the platform
• Define SLOs, improve reliability and lead incident resolution
• Drive platform upgrades, automation and continuous improvement

What we’re looking for:

• Min 5 years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps or Data Platform Engineering
• Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience, including production/stateful systems
• Experience with Terraform/OpenTofu and GitOps (Argo CD/FluxCD)
• Experience operating at least one of Kafka, Iceberg/Trino/Spark or Airflow
• Good understanding of CI/CD, cloud-native security and Linux
• Proficiency in Python and either Go or Bash
• Experience with Azure is a strong advantage
