International Trade and Export Control with Strategic Influence

Do you want to actively secure and shape international business activities? In this key role, you will assume global responsibility for export control, customs, and foreign trade law, with a special focus on the USA and current trade policy developments. You will work with management, specialist departments, authorities, and external partners, and serve as a sparring partner for our customs officers. You will make a significant contribution to securing our international market access and supply chains.

What you will achieve with us:

• Ensuring the legally compliant processing of all international import and export processes
• Global policy responsibility for export control, sanctions, embargoes, and dual-use topics
• Implementation and monitoring of current trade policy measures, especially US customs regulations
• Assessment of regulatory impacts on international business models and market developments
• Ensuring high data quality in the areas of tariff classification, origin of goods, and export control classification
• Development, implementation, and further development of global customs, foreign trade, and export control processes
• Conducting risk analyses, compliance assessments, as well as internal and external audits
• Advising management and specialist departments on all issues regarding international trade law
• Preparation of management reports, risk analyses, and decision templates
• Representing the customs officer towards authorities and internal stakeholders
• Co-shaping a sustainable trade compliance strategy for the TGW Gruppe

What convinces us:

• Completed commercial training (at Matura level)
• >3 years of experience from a plant engineering company
• Expert knowledge in export control, customs, and foreign trade law with a focus on the US
• Strong risk, compliance, and process management competence
• High analytical and strategic mindset for assessing international trade risks
• Proficient use of ERP/SAP systems and customs-relevant master data processes
• Strong communication and advisory skills at the management level
• Reliable, cooperative, and diligent way of working
• Very good English skills (understanding of foreign trade law including legal texts)
• Persuasiveness and assertiveness, initiative, and conflict management skills
• Willingness to travel to the extent of 10%

We offer an attractive and market-conforming salary, depending on qualification and professional experience. The minimum basic gross salary according to the collective agreement based on full-time employment is 53,242 Euro per year.
