What needs to be done
- You will store materials professionally (material type, size, storage location) and keep an eye on orderliness and inventory density
- You will perform regular stock controls and inventories and report deviations immediately
- Based on production orders, you will pick and prepare material and correctly document withdrawals in the inventory
- You will record, separate, and store offcuts and scrap; you will also organize returns to suppliers or scrapping
- You will maintain material master data (dimensions, weights, storage locations) in the ERP and provide technical training to less experienced colleagues
- You will optimize warehouse processes together with the Head of Manufacturing Logistics – e.g., 5S/Lean, digital solutions (WMS, tablet) as well as ideas for offcut utilization and reducing material loss
What you should bring
- You have completed training as a specialist for warehouse logistics / warehouse specialist or a comparable technical or commercial training
- Ideally, you have several years of experience in material management in the metal or mechanical engineering industry, including sound knowledge of metal materials and warehouse logistics
- You are proficient in inventory management, ERP systems, and MS Office; you analyze inventory data to identify bottlenecks and excess stock early
- You are familiar with hand scanners and RFID for inventory management
- Structure, care, and reliability in handling valuable materials and system data characterize you; you quickly find pragmatic solutions for delivery or storage problems
- You bring strong communication skills and good English skills; travel and shift work only in exceptional cases
