Your tasks

We are seeking an experienced Communications Engineer to design, secure and operate enterprise communications environments for our clients. The role spans voice and contact centre, enterprise networking, cybersecurity, and AI-enabled communications.

Voice and Contact Centre

• Design, deploy and manage Avaya and Cisco voice systems, including PBX, VoIP, unified communications and contact centre platforms.
• Perform system upgrades, patches and configuration changes to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Support migration of on-premise voice and contact centre platforms to cloud and hybrid models.

Networking

• Design, configure and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, SD-WAN and wireless networks supporting voice, video and data.
• Implement QoS, routing and switching policies that keep real-time communications reliable.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams to integrate communications solutions with existing environments.

Cybersecurity

• Harden UC and network infrastructure using session border controllers, firewalls, segmentation, encrypted signalling and media (TLS/SRTP) and strong access control.
• Monitor for and respond to threats such as toll fraud, SIP attacks and denial-of-service; support vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and incident response.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, client security policies and applicable regulations (e.g. PDPA, Cybersecurity Act).

AI and Automation

• Implement and integrate AI-enabled communications such as conversational IVR, voicebots and chatbots, speech analytics, real-time agent assist and transcription.
• Evaluate AI solutions for accuracy, security, data privacy and responsible use, including testing for misuse and prompt-injection risks.
• Automate configuration, monitoring and reporting using scripting and APIs.

General

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across voice, network and security domains, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.
• Provide technical documentation, training and support for internal teams and clients.

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong system programming knowledge and experience, preferably with Avaya and Cisco telephony and contact centre expertise, solid networking and security fundamentals, and a keen interest in applying AI to customer and enterprise communications.

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in voice or unified communications engineering, with exposure to enterprise networking and security.
• Strong expertise in system programming, preferably in Avaya Aura, Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and related telephony solutions.
• Solid understanding of SIP, RTP and VoIP protocols, TCP/IP, routing and switching, VLANs and QoS.
• Working knowledge of network security: firewalls, session border controllers, VPNs, IDS/IPS and secure configuration practices.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled communications tools (conversational AI, speech-to-text, LLM-based assistants) and cloud contact centre platforms is a strong plus.
• Scripting and automation skills (e.g. Python, REST APIs) are an advantage.
• Experience with IVR systems and voice recording platforms is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Certifications (highly desirable)

• Voice and collaboration: Avaya Certified Specialist, Cisco CCNP Collaboration
• Networking: Cisco CCNP Enterprise or equivalent
• Security: CCNP Security, CompTIA Security+, CISSP or equivalent
• AI and cloud: vendor certifications in AI or cloud platforms (e.g. Microsoft Azure AI Engineer, AWS)
