Engineering Program Lead

Are you an experienced program leader who enjoys managing complex technical development trajectories?

For an international player, we are looking for an Engineering Program Lead who maintains an overview of the full portfolio of product development projects.

In this role, you are the connecting link between R&D, engineering, product development, operations, and other involved parties. You ensure that different disciplines are aligned, monitor progress, and intervene in a timely manner when risks, dependencies, or technical challenges threaten to delay development.

In doing so, you look beyond a single individual project. You monitor the entire engineering portfolio, align priorities and capacities, and ensure that projects are not only technically well-developed but also ready for industrialization and production.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to play an important role in the further integration of product security and regulatory compliance within the development process.

Your responsibilities

• Leading and coordinating R&D programs from planning through to delivery
• Monitoring timing, scope, quality, and general progress of various development projects
• Aligning various multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and external partners
• Detecting risks and bottlenecks early and ensuring appropriate solutions
• Removing roadblocks and escalating key risks in a timely manner when necessary
• Supporting resource and capacity planning across the entire engineering portfolio
• Weighing priorities based on available capacity, project dependencies, and strategic objectives
• Coordinating the transition from engineering to industrialization and production
• Collaborating with the engineering team in Shenzhen and Product Operations to monitor the production readiness of new developments
• Integrating product security throughout the various phases of product development
• Supporting risk analyses, threat modelling, and vulnerability management
• Coordinating product security requirements and compliance within the development process
• Overseeing the application of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) within relevant product developments
• Ensuring a clear overview of the status, priorities, and interdependencies within the engineering portfolio

In short: you keep the entire development process moving, bring technical teams together, and ensure that complex projects evolve towards production in a controlled and successful manner.

• You have demonstrable experience in coordinating or leading complex engineering, R&D, or product development programs
• You have a good understanding of hardware, embedded software, and software development environments
• You are strong in planning, prioritizing, and monitoring interdependencies
• Very good knowledge of English
• You can persuade and align teams and stakeholders, even when you do not have direct hierarchical authority
• You have an interest in product security, cybersecurity, Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC), and regulatory compliance
• You take ownership and feel responsible for achieving the collective result

In summary: we are looking for someone who can oversee technical complexity, bring structure to various projects, and knows how to connect people in a natural way. You do not need to be the technical expert in everything, but you must have sufficient technical background to ask the right questions and understand decisions.
