Key Responsibilities Production Planning, Scheduling and Delivery Assist the Production Manager (HOD) in overseeing day-to-day Production Department operations and executing the production plan.

Plan and schedule assigned production work in accordance with customer orders, approved drawings, material availability and committed delivery dates.

Monitor production progress, identify constraints or delays, coordinate recovery actions and escalate significant risks promptly.

Coordinate manpower, machinery, materials and subcontracted work to achieve effective utilization and smooth workflow.

Plan and follow up production material requirements, stock availability and timely arrival of materials for assigned jobs.

Follow up all outstanding work, rectification and documentation to ensure switchboards and related products are complete and ready before delivery.

Quality, Technical Coordination and Corrective Action Liaise with Sales, Design and QA personnel to clarify drawings, specifications, quality requirements and technical issues.

Coordinate with supervisors and foremen on rectification, rework and outstanding items identified during inspection or QA testing.

Provide technical guidance to production workers and subcontractors on in-process quality check (IPQC), workmanship, assembly methods and required work standards.

Conduct routine checks on work quality and compliance with approved drawings, specifications and established procedures.

Collect and analyse defect and quality data, evaluate causes, and initiate or recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Follow up and verify that agreed corrective actions are effectively implemented and recurring defects are prevented.

People Leadership, Communication and Development Issue clear production instructions and maintain effective communication with supervisors, foremen, workers and supporting departments.

Support a cohesive and accountable production team through daily guidance, coaching and timely resolution of work issues.

Identify training needs and coordinate technical, workmanship, quality, safety and process training for production personnel.

Monitor employee performance and support performance appraisals, interviews and development actions; lead these activities when delegated at management level.

Act as an assigned stand-in for the Production Department during the absence of Production HOD.

Safety, Housekeeping and Equipment Implement and reinforce safe work procedures and risk assessments for production activities, and ensure identified controls are followed.

Maintain good housekeeping, workplace organization and safe conditions throughout assigned production areas.

Plan, coordinate and follow up preventive maintenance, servicing, repairs and improvement work for production equipment and machinery.

Cost, Performance and Continuous Improvement Assist in job costing, budget control and monitoring of production revenue and expenses within the assigned scope.

Monitor and report production performance, including schedule achievement, productivity, manpower utilization, quality, cost and other relevant indicators.

Evaluate work processes and drive productivity, quality and workflow improvements, including Terasaki Production System (TPS) activities and agreed action plans.

Support the control and proper management of production stock and inventories in coordination with the Store and relevant departments.

Carry out day-to-day Production Department administrative duties and review or approve documents and claims where delegated.

Subcontractor, Compliance and Other Duties Liaise with subcontractors on pricing, capacity, schedule, delivery, quality, workmanship and technical matters within the assigned authority.

Follow the Quality Management System and applicable ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 procedures for effective implementation and control.

Maintain accurate and timely production records, reports and relevant controlled documentation.

Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by Production HOD or Management.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.

For Senior Production Engineer appointment: at least 3 -5 years of relevant experience in material planning, production planning or manufacturing operations.

Experience in switchboard, electrical panel or related manufacturing operations is preferred.

Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, coordinate across departments, and communicate effectively with workers and subcontractors.

Working knowledge of production planning, quality control, workplace safety, continuous improvement and QMS requirements.

Authority Authority is commensurate with the appointment level and delegation from the Production HOD or Management. Within the assigned scope, the incumbent may: Plan, coordinate, allocate and assign production work and resources. Issue work instructions and require correction of unsafe, non-conforming or incomplete work. Recommend or implement corrective actions and production improvements. Maintain, review and, where formally delegated, approve relevant production and management-system documentation. Note: The final appointment title and level will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, technical competence and leadership capability.
