Senior Civil Contingency Officer

Teqniq is searching for a Senior Civil Contingency Officer to work in the public sector. 35 hours per week. 12 week contract.

Job Description:

To manage the Civil Contingency Officer and ensure that you provide support, guidance and approval of plan reviews, new plans and any threat mitigations. Supports preparation of risk assessments, and emergency plans, and tests contingency arrangements. To participate in delivering and implementing the authority's legal responsibilities as a category 1 responder under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and for working as part of a team to deliver operational resilience and business continuity across the authority including taking an administrative role on the statutory resilience forum and wider multiagency arrangements. Be a part of the authority's 24/7 corporate crisis response arrangements for the 100+ members of the Corporate Emergency Response Team, resources and equipment. Assist in ensure that the authority has the ability to open and manage the Authority Emergency Control Centre to co-ordinate the authority's response and provide the community with an emergency centre during an emergency. Provide support to the Civil Contingencies & Organisational Resilience Service Manager to assist briefings to directors, managers and officers on organisational resilience, emergency planning, multiagency crisis response protocols and business continuity. To review, implement and approve safety and security measures for events, and to respond to threats and risks to elected members, approving mitigation measures related to Counter Terrorism, including providing recommendations for protective security measures. Co-ordinates the authority's response to unplanned incidents, manages Local Authority Liaison Officers and Crisis Response Volunteers, and supports emergency responders and recovery. Ensures timely briefing of on-call notifications to the Strategic Commander, activates corporate and multi-agency plans. Maintains communication channels with emergency services and other responders at a tactical level. Provides specialist guidance, leadership, and direction in complex incidents and emergencies, ensuring the authority's reputation is maintained.
