Main Responsibilities: As part of this position, the incumbent will formulate recommendations and exert influence on the verification and validation of the Telesat LEO system. Develop system and subsystem verification matrices based on system requirements. Coordinate and participate in system-level testing activities, including test planning, execution, and production. Act as a subject matter expert in satellite communications (SATCOM) or networking and support other technical staff as needed. Develop and maintain test cases as well as the test beds required for various test cases. Perform hands-on testing in the LEO laboratory for various data path and routing functionalities. Collaborate with other segments such as DevOps, ground systems, and satellites, and foster a collaborative and innovative environment. Play an active role in the design of components and subsystems as well as in testing activities. Configure test equipment, including satellite link emulators, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and traffic generators. Ensure the tested product meets technical, functional, performance, and business requirements. Work with various antenna, modem, or RF component vendors to support SOW reviews, SRR, test requirements, test plans, test results, and RVTM reviews, in addition to ensuring the follow-up of antenna integration with other components (modem and other interfaces). Collaborate with other segments to support the development of internal test plans and verification methods. Support "Over The Air" (OTA) test planning and activities, including test automation processes. Support system acceptance planning activities for the LEOP and IOT phases.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or systems engineering, and at least 15 years of relevant experience in satellite communications. At least 5 years of professional experience with different types of antennas, such as flat panel antennas, parabolic antennas, and aeronautical antennas (Ka band preferred). At least 5 years of professional experience in satellite RF communication systems, with a solid knowledge of modulation and coding techniques used in modern standards such as DVB-S2(X) and DVB-RCS2. Strong understanding of RF engineering principles and design practices. Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and satellite channel emulators). Demonstrated understanding of radio interfaces, modem technologies, modulation, and coding, as well as their impact on satellite link performance. Experience in satellite link budget analysis, with a good understanding of the effects of impairments on link performance. Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools (Jira, Jama). Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, engineering teams, and partners/vendors. Knowledge of Agile development methodologies. Experience working within geographically dispersed teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with different Ka band antenna vendors. Experience with flat panel antennas and aeronautical antennas (preferably Ka band). Experience with BUC/LNB and various antenna technologies. Experience in satellite RF communication systems and modern standards such as DVB-S2(X) and DVB-RCS2. Experience in planning activities for the LEOP and IOT phases. Team spirit and a great capacity to collaborate, able to quickly earn the trust of colleagues and teammates. Proficient in MATLAB, Python, or equivalents. Excellent oral and written communication.
