Cloud Engineer GenAI
As a leading telecom player, Telenet is strongly committed to a cloud-first strategy and large-scale cloud transformations, and we are looking for cloud-native engineers who share our passion for cloud infrastructure and Generative AI. Cloud-native working is becoming the standard at Telenet. Our engineers build secure, scalable foundations upon which other teams can continue to build.
As part of the GenAI Cluster, you will build and manage the cloud platform behind Telenet’s Generative AI solutions. This ranges from model hosting and inference to retrieval pipelines, automation, and guardrails so that GenAI teams can develop and deploy quickly and responsibly.
Your mission as Cloud Engineer GenAI
As a Cloud Engineer GenAI, you are responsible for the design, construction, automation, and management of the cloud infrastructure behind our Generative AI workloads on AWS. This ensures that model serving and LLM applications run reliably, scalably, securely, and cost-efficiently, and that product squads can rely on reusable platform services.
What will you do?
- Build and further develop the GenAI platform
You design and manage the cloud foundation for Generative AI on AWS (such as Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, ECS, and Fargate), fully set up as infrastructure-as-code via Terraform.
- Manage model serving and inference
You set up LLM and inference endpoints, scale them, and continuously optimize them in terms of performance, latency, reliability, and cost.
- Automation (CI/CD & LLMOps)
You build and maintain CI/CD and LLMOps pipelines for deployment, evaluation, and rollback, including via GitLab CI and modern tooling.
- Support data and retrieval flows
You set up RAG architectures, vector databases, embedding pipelines, and retrieval services that GenAI applications rely on.
- Guarantee security and compliance
You implement security measures such as identity management, networking, secrets management (Vault), and guardrails specifically for GenAI workloads.
- Improve observability and cost-efficiency
You ensure monitoring, logging, and tracing, and actively drive performance and cost optimization (FinOps).
- Promote cloud-native working
You provide well-documented and easy-to-use platform services to GenAI and Predictive AI teams, stimulate a cloud-native and automation-first mindset, and help colleagues further develop their skills within GenAI on cloud.
Your profile as Cloud Engineer GenAI
Must-haves
- Experience as a cloud, DevOps, platform, or infrastructure engineer, preferably on AWS (certification is a plus)
- Understanding of Agentic AI: LLM tool calling, MCP, and A2A
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, possibly CloudFormation) and experience with containers and Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI) and a strong focus on automation
- Programming or scripting experience (e.g., Python)
- Good knowledge of networking, security, identity (IAM), and secrets management (e.g., Vault)
- You take reliability and cost-efficiency into account (SRE / FinOps mindset)
Nice-to-haves (GenAI focus)
- Experience with ML or Generative AI workloads, such as model serving and inference optimization
- Familiarity with Langchain, Langgraph, and Langfuse
- Knowledge of AWS Bedrock and/or SageMaker, vector databases, and LLMOps / MLOps
- Insight into RAG architectures, embeddings, and prompt/guardrail tooling
