We are looking for an experienced Credit SME – Collateral Management to support the delivery and enhancement of a bank’s collateral management platform. The successful candidate will act as the key business subject matter expert, providing deep expertise across credit risk, collateral management processes, regulatory requirements and technology delivery. The role will work closely with Credit Risk, Treasury, Front Office, Legal, Operations and Technology teams to define, prioritise and validate business requirements for collateral management capabilities. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary Subject Matter Expert for credit risk and collateral management throughout the project lifecycle.

Lead requirements gathering and workshops with stakeholders across Credit Risk, Front Office, Treasury, Legal, Operations and Technology.

Define and prioritise functional and non-functional requirements for the collateral management platform.

Provide subject matter expertise across: Eligible collateral and eligibility schedules

Collateral valuation and haircuts

Variation Margin (VM) and Initial Margin (IM)

Margin call generation, settlement and reconciliation

Collateral optimisation and substitution

Collateral disputes and exception management

Exposure and collateral position monitoring

Provide expertise on collateral documentation and agreements including ISDA Credit Support Annexes (CSA), GMRA and GMSLA .

Translate regulatory and risk requirements, including EMIR, Uncleared Margin Rules (UMR), Basel requirements and Credit Risk Mitigation (CRM) , into practical system requirements.

Develop and maintain a prioritised product/project backlog based on regulatory deadlines, risk reduction, operational requirements and business value.

Define clear business rules, user stories and acceptance criteria for collateral management capabilities.

Support requirements relating to integration with credit risk, treasury, front-office, operations and regulatory reporting systems.

Review proposed solution designs and challenge requirements or assumptions that do not align with collateral risk management practices or regulatory requirements.

Support testing, UAT and validation to ensure delivered functionality meets agreed business and regulatory requirements.

Identify process gaps, operational risks and opportunities for automation or process improvement.

Communicate complex collateral and credit risk concepts clearly to both senior business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.

Facilitate resolution of conflicting stakeholder requirements and support informed prioritisation and design decisions.

Requirements Strong experience within banking or financial services , with significant hands-on expertise in credit risk and collateral management .

Strong understanding of end-to-end collateral management processes across margining, settlement, optimisation, substitution and dispute management.

Good understanding of derivatives and securities financing collateral arrangements.

Strong knowledge of ISDA CSA, GMRA and GMSLA agreements and their impact on collateral processes.

Good knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements including EMIR, UMR, Basel and Credit Risk Mitigation requirements .

Experience working on collateral management system implementations, transformations or major enhancements.

Proven experience translating complex business and regulatory requirements into functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.

Experience working with Credit Risk, Treasury, Front Office, Legal, Operations and Technology stakeholders.

Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and technical teams where appropriate.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills.

Experience working within Agile or hybrid technology delivery environments would be advantageous.

Preferred Experience Experience with enterprise collateral management platforms or related risk management systems.

Experience within a global bank or large financial institution.

Previous involvement in regulatory-driven collateral, margin or credit risk transformation programmes.
