Senior Software Developer - PERN & React Native

Job Overview

We're looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer with deep expertise in the PERN stack (PostgreSQL, Express, React, Node.js) and React Native to lead development on our Point-of-Sale (POS) product for the F&B / Food Services sector, spanning web-based cashier terminals, self-service kiosks, and mobile apps.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core POS functionality: order taking, table/queue management, kitchen display integration, and payment processing
• Architect and optimize PostgreSQL schemas for high-transaction, multi-outlet/multi-brand environments
• Build responsive React front-ends (web/terminal) and React Native apps (kiosk/mobile), sharing business logic and UX patterns across platforms where practical
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Node.js/Express
• Integrate payment gateways (NETS, PayNow, card terminals), hardware peripherals (printers, scanners, cash drawers), GTM and third-party delivery platforms
• Ensure system reliability for the applications and offline-first/intermittent-connectivity scenarios
• Translate business/product requirements into technical specs, and propose improvements to development quality and performance (libraries, design patterns, reusable components)
• Conduct code reviews, write documentation, and mentor junior/mid-level developers
• Own deployment pipelines and cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred)
• Build and maintain cross-platform mobile/kiosk applications using React Native, covering self-service ordering kiosks and mobile apps for staff/customers

Requirements

• At least 3 years in full-stack development, PERN stack; hands-on React Native experience for mobile/kiosk apps
• Proven experience building or maintaining POS, retail, or F&B management systems
• Strong critical thinking to understand business workflows (order flow, inventory, payments, reporting) and edge cases to translate them into solutions that deliver real business value
• Strong PostgreSQL skills: schema design, query optimization, transactions, data integrity at scale
• RESTful API design and auth/authorization patterns (JWT, OAuth)
• Experience with real-time data sync (WebSockets or similar) for live order/kitchen displays
• Familiarity with payment gateway integrations and cloud deployment/CI-CD (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Offline-capable architecture experience (local caching, sync-on-reconnect) recommended
• Strong communication skills to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Exposure to ERP, HRMS, CRM, Inventory, or Project Management systems is a bonus
• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience preferred - candidates without formal education in these fields are welcome to apply
