until 31.08.2030 (duration of employment according to WissZeitVG), with the option for extension in subsequent projects subject to available funds. There is the opportunity for own scientific further qualification (generally a doctorate). The place of work is Hoyerswerda. The Professur für Kraftfahrzeugtechnik is part of the Fakultät Verkehrswissenschaften „Friedrich List“ and offers diverse interdisciplinary cooperation opportunities in research and teaching. As part of the establishment of the Smart Mobility Lab (SML), a state-of-the-art research and testing infrastructure for automated, networked, and software-defined mobility is being created. To develop and further develop the central research software, we are looking for a committed scientific personality with a focus on Softwarearchitektur and Simulationsintegration.

The goal of the position is the conception, development, and continuous further development of the software platform for the operation of the cyber-physical test setup. This includes, in particular, the development of the test bench software for the control and monitoring of complex test sequences, the integration of distributed simulation and testing systems, as well as the provision of high-performance software components for real-time communication, data processing, and test automation. The developed software forms the basis for the safe, flexible, and reproducible operation of the research and testing infrastructure and enables the execution of complex experiments with virtual and real system components.

You will work at the interface of Softwareentwicklung, Simulation, Datenverarbeitung, and Automatisierungstechnik in an interdisciplinary research environment. For scientific work, the highly immersive Dresden Driving Simulator, the cyber-physical test setup (CVA), high-performance simulation and development environments, as well as modern hardware and software platforms are available. The position offers the opportunity to significantly help shape the software architecture of a novel research infrastructure and to develop innovative software solutions for future mobility systems.

The activity takes place in close cooperation with internal and external project partners, especially the TUD. The position enables independent scientific work and the active co-design of innovative, data-driven approaches in traffic modeling. Your tasks include, in particular:

Conception, development, and further development of the test bench software for the safe, flexible, and reproducible operation of the research and testing infrastructure Development of modular software components for the control, monitoring, and automation of test sequences Implementation and maintenance of interfaces between simulation platforms, testing systems, sensor technology, actuator technology, and data processing Development of real-time capable software solutions for the communication, control, and synchronization of distributed systems Integration of simulation, vehicle, and measurement systems into the software architecture of the Smart Mobility Lab Development of high-performance data processing and logging components for research and testing applications Maintenance, further development, and continuous adaptation of the software to new test applic...
