In this role, you will take responsibility for the daily operation and further expansion of the CCTV and access control systems within multiple terminals. You will work closely with colleagues on-site and with external vendors to guarantee the security and availability of the systems.
Specifically, you will:
- manage and maintain CCTV systems, including software upgrades, security patching, camera firmware updates, and troubleshooting technical malfunctions;
- configure, maintain, and support access control systems such as badge readers, barriers, intercom systems, and camera integrations;
- design and implement technical solutions to support terminal expansions and port infrastructure development;
- develop and roll out solutions in response to changes in security policies and operational requirements;
- perform system performance monitoring and ensure the reliability and availability of the CCTV and access control environments;
- include vendor management: collaborating with and directing third-party vendors and contractors during installations, maintenance, and project implementations;
- actively look for improvement opportunities in existing systems, processes, and security infrastructure.
Additionally:
- you ensure the continuous and reliable operation of the CCTV and access control systems at the sites under your responsibility;
- you support and realize new CCTV and access control projects from design to implementation;
- you monitor that the security infrastructure remains in line with business and compliance requirements;
- you manage and support systems across multiple locations, currently including the regions Zeebrugge, Rotterdam, and Vlissingen.
For this role, we are looking for an IT professional with a solid foundation in CCTV and access control, combined with a practical, solution-oriented approach.
Your profile:
- you are fluent in English; additional languages are a plus;
- you have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in managing CCTV and access control systems;
- you have knowledge of CCTV and access control platforms; experience with Genetec and/or Milestone is a strong advantage;
- you have a good understanding of the hardware components that support these systems;
- you possess knowledge of fiber optic cabling and a basic knowledge of networking principles;
- you can independently develop and propose technical solutions;
- you work hands-on, think in solutions, and take responsibility for your files;
- you communicate clearly and can collaborate smoothly with internal stakeholders and external partners;
- you meet the requirements to obtain a positive security screening for critical functions in the port.
