Political Assistant Internship

Period: October 2026 – April 2027 Commitment: Approximately 5–10 hours per week Location: Copenhagen, DK and/or Hybrid

Politics meets the startup ecosystem. Want hands-on experience at the intersection of politics, entrepreneurship and innovation? TechBBQ is looking for a Political Assistant to support our Projects team with political outreach and policy dialogue focused on startups and entrepreneurship. TechBBQ is Europe’s largest startup and innovation summit, bringing together people across the startup ecosystem. In this role, you’ll get a closer look at how an organization like ours engages with political stakeholders and brings startup-related topics into policy conversations. This opportunity can be structured as either an internship or a long-term volunteer role. This is an unpaid position.

What you’ll work on: You’ll support our political outreach, particularly around engagement connected to the Danish Parliament. Your work may include: Researching political stakeholders, policy topics and developments relevant to startups.

Supporting outreach and dialogue with members of Parliament and other political stakeholders.

Preparing briefings, background research and meeting materials.

Helping coordinate meetings, communication and follow-ups.

Supporting the development of policy proposals and talking points around entrepreneurship and innovation.

Contributing to related public affairs and communication activities.

Who are we looking for? You might be studying Political Science, Communication, Public Affairs or a related field - or simply looking to build practical experience in this space. Professional proficiency in Danish is required. We’re looking for someone who understands the Danish political landscape, communicates clearly, can turn research into useful material, and is comfortable taking responsibility for their own work. Previous experience from Parliament, a political organization, communications or public affairs is a strong plus.

This is an opportunity to build practical experience in p olitical outreach, stakeholder engagement, policy research and public affairs while getting exposure to the Nordic startup ecosystem. You’ll work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and see firsthand how politics, startups and entrepreneurship connect in practice
