EYFS Teaching Assistant

Start Date: ASAP Location: Tower Hamlets Full-time Salary: £108 - £115 per day

About the role and school

Teach Plus are currently working with a welcoming primary school in Tower Hamlets who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their early years team.

The successful EYFS Teaching Assistant will support children within the Early Years Foundation Stage, helping them develop their communication, social skills, confidence and independence through a mixture of structured and play-based learning.

You will work closely with the class teacher and wider early years team to create a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children can learn through exploration and practical activities.

The school is looking for an EYFS Teaching Assistant who is warm, patient and proactive, with a genuine passion for supporting young children's development.

Job Responsibilities

• Support children throughout the EYFS classroom.
• Assist with play-based and structured learning activities.
• Support children's communication and language development.
• Encourage social skills, independence and positive behaviour.
• Help create an engaging and stimulating learning environment.
• Work with individuals and small groups where appropriate.
• Support observations and contribute to assessing children's development.
• Assist with classroom organisation and preparation.
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team.
• Follow safeguarding and school procedures.

Qualifications/Experience

• Previous experience working within an EYFS or nursery setting is highly desirable.
• Relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification is advantageous.
• Good understanding of early childhood development.
• Experience supporting communication and language development.
• Warm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A genuine passion for early years education.
• Valid DBS on the Update Service is desirable.
