Role Purpose

Lead and oversee the end-to-end cross-border trucking business, with overall accountability for sales growth, operational excellence, profitability, and achievement of an annual sales target of SGD 5 million . Drive business development, customer acquisition, revenue growth, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance while maintaining high standards of service and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to drive business growth and achieve the annual sales target of SGD 5 million for the cross-border trucking business.
  • Take full ownership of sales performance, business development activities, sales pipeline, customer acquisition, and revenue growth to ensure the SGD 5 million annual sales target is achieved.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities while expanding and strengthening relationships with existing customers.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, freight forwarders, transport partners, customs authorities, and other logistics stakeholders.
  • Prepare, review, negotiate, and approve quotations, contracts, and commercial agreements while ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, customer requirements, and industry developments to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive position.
  • Work closely with the sales team to develop competitive pricing strategies and value-added logistics solutions.
  • Review and approve new customer accounts, credit terms, major quotations, and commercial proposals.

Operations Management

  • Lead and oversee the overall cross-border trucking operations, ensuring operational efficiency, service excellence, cost effectiveness, and profitability.
  • Oversee budgeting, cost control, and the overall financial performance of the sales and operations functions.
  • Work closely with Corporate Finance to ensure accurate financial reporting, billing, revenue recognition, cost allocation, audits, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with Corporate HR on workforce planning, recruitment, talent development, performance management, and statutory compliance.
  • Establish, review, and approve transportation routes, SOPs, and service delivery models to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure full compliance with customs regulations, import/export requirements, permits, and applicable transportation laws in both origin and destination countries.
  • Monitor operational capacity, service quality, productivity, and KPIs, and implement corrective measures and improvements where required.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with cross-border freight carriers, customs authorities, transport providers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to manage operational risks, including border closures, customs delays, capacity constraints, and peak-period disruptions.
  • Lead the resolution of operational disruptions, customer escalations, and service-related disputes in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless execution of cross-border import and export operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall business performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in cross-border road freight, freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation, including at least 5-7 years in a managerial or leadership role overseeing both sales and operations.
  • Proven track record in business development, key account management, sales growth, and achieving revenue and profitability targets.
  • Strong knowledge of cross-border transportation, international freight forwarding, customs regulations, import/export procedures, and trade compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing end-to-end logistics operations, including operational planning, budgeting, cost control, and performance management.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop strategic business plans and identify new market opportunities.
  • Excellent leadership, people management, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving abilities, with experience in managing budgets and operational performance.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
