Accountant

Your tasks

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to support the Company's finance operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing financial reporting, performing reconciliations, supporting statutory compliance, and overseeing accounting activities across multiple eCommerce and online marketplace platforms.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Financial Accounting & Reporting

o Maintain and update general ledger accounts.

o Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.

o Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

o Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments and account reconciliations.

o Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and Company financial policies.

o Maintain accurate and complete accounting records and supporting documentation.

B. eCommerce & Marketplace Accounting

o Reconcile daily and monthly sales transactions from online marketplaces and eCommerce platforms, including Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, Shopify, company webstores and similar platforms.

o Verify marketplace settlements, commissions, platform fees, advertising expenses, vouchers, rebates, refunds and promotions.

o Monitor payment gateway transactions and ensure accurate recording of receipts.

o Investigate and resolve discrepancies between marketplace reports, ERP systems, accounting records and bank statements.

o Reconcile ales revenue and collections across multiple sales channels.

C. Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

o Process supplier invoices and payment requests in accordance with established procedures and approval requirements.

o Support accounts receivable activities, collections and customer account reconciliations.

o Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow movements.

o Maintain accurate records of all payment and receipt transactions.

D. Inventory & Revenue Reconciliation

o Reconcile inventory movements and sales transactions between operational systems and accounting records.

o Support stock count exercises and inventory valuation reviews.

o Monitor returns, exchanges, cancellations and refunds to ensure appropriate accounting treatment.

o Collaborate with Operations, Warehouse and Commercial teams to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

E. Taxation, Audit & Compliance

o Prepare and support GST/VAT filings and other applicable statutory reporting requirements.

o Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax-related filings and supporting documentation.

o Liaise with external auditors and provide supporting documents for annual audits.

o Maintain compliance with applicable accounting and tax regulations, internal controls and Company policies.

F. Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

o Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.

o Prepare profitability analyses by sales channel, marketplace and product category.

o Generate financial and operational reports for management review.

o Identify financial trends, discrepancies and opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

The role requires experience in financial accounting, month-end closing, reconciliations, taxation, and online marketplaceaccounting. Experience in platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, Shopify, company webstores, or similar eCommerce platforms will be advantage.

3. Requirements

A. Education & Professional Qualifications

o Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

o ACCA,CPA, CA or an equivalent professional qualification will be an advantage.

B. Relevant Experience

o Relevant accounting experience, including exposure to general ledger maintenance ,financial reporting, account reconciliations and month-end closing activities.

o Experience in eCommerce, online marketplaces, retail, FMCG, distribution or other transaction-intensive business environments will be an advantage.

o Familiarity with online sales platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, Shopify, Amazon or equivalent marketplaces will be an advantage.

C. Technical Skills

o Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

o Experience with accounting software or ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Xero, QuickBooks or equivalent platforms.

o Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP and data analysis functions.

o Strong analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
