Kubernetes Engineer

Run a client's production platform: Kubernetes, Docker, Tomcat, Elasticsearch, Jasper Reports and Java applications, on VMware/OLVM.

About TARBASE

What you'll do

• Operate Kubernetes clusters and Docker workloads in production
• Administer Tomcat, Elasticsearch and Jasper Reports, and run Java applications
• Manage VMware/OLVM virtualisation and MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB or MariaDB databases
• Handle security (hardening, RBAC, patching) and networking (DNS, load balancing, Ingress, firewalls)

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years in a similar role
• Administration of open-source technologies: Kubernetes, Docker, Apache Tomcat, Elasticsearch and Jasper Reports
• Experience managing Java-based applications
• Knowledge and understanding of IT security management
• Knowledge of network and communications management (DNS, load balancing, Ingress, firewalls)
• Knowledge of virtualisation platforms: VMware and/or OLVM
• Database knowledge in at least one of: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MariaDB
• Scripting skills (Bash, Python) and good command of common IT and Linux utilities
• Linux (RHEL/Oracle Linux/CentOS/Debian/Ubuntu)
• Good written and spoken English
• Citizenship or a valid work permit in Portugal (mandatory)
