Patch Operations Process Specialist- Contract

Responsibilities

• Own the operating process and day-to-day coordination needed to run weekly accelerated patching and urgent 3-day cases end-to-end. This role is accountable for operating rhythm, readiness, cross-team hand-offs, escalation and evidence closure. • Oversee / accountable for assigned accelerated patch cycles from scope confirmation through testing, deployment, live verification, reconciliation and closure • Maintain cycle plans, RACI, action logs, decision deadlines, approvals, dependencies, risks and escalation status • Coordinate readiness across GIS, HCL, Open Systems and Middleware teams, SBE, Network, application custodians, TCOE, Service Recovery and Change Management • Track patch scope, CRQ readiness, approved VRAs, deferments, exclusions, failed patches, rollback actions and pending validation evidence • Support rostered overnight, weekend and public-holiday patching activities, including bridge coordination and handover to accountable client decision owners. • Define and maintain SOPs, control gates, cut-off times, escalation paths, duty coverage and exception routes for weekly and urgent patching lanes • Coordinate process walkthroughs, readiness reviews, dress rehearsals and transition into BAU • Compile case closure records and support SLA, KORI and KRCSA evidence preparation • Identify recurring process or ownership gaps and raise requirements to the Tooling, Data & Automation role for implementation

Requirements Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline • Minimum 3+ years in infrastructure operations, patch management, change coordination, service delivery or technology process governance • Hands-on knowledge of Open Systems administration covering Windows, Linux/Unix and server patching principles • Working knowledge of middleware administration and patching, such as WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Apache HTTPD/Tomcat or equivalent platforms • Experience coordinating production changes across infrastructure, middleware and application teams • Working knowledge of CRQ/change processes, VRA/exception handling, rollback and post-patch validation • Comfortable supporting rostered overnight, weekend and public-holiday activities when patch windows require • Strong documentation, stakeholder follow-up, issue triage and escalation discipline • ITIL certification or equivalent service-management experience is preferred • Open Systems and middleware administration / patching knowledge • Accelerated patch operations, change, VRA and cross-team coordination • SOP, RACI, control gates, evidence closure and 24x7 operational readiness.
