A company in the fashion, garment, and accessories sector is looking to integrate an International Purchasing and Product Development Coordinator into its team, with experience in negotiation with suppliers from China, international purchasing, and new product development. We are looking for an organized, proactive person with a commercial vision, who combines knowledge of purchasing, design, and production control to ensure attractive, competitive, and profitable products.
Your tasks
Job Objective Coordinate international purchasing and product development, mainly with suppliers from China, ensuring compliance with specifications, quality, costs, and delivery times.
Functions and responsibilities
- International purchasing and negotiation: Manage suppliers from China, quotations, purchase orders, prices, and commercial conditions.
- Product development: Interpret fashion trends, coordinate designs, technical sheets, materials, and specifications.
- Production monitoring: Supervise samples, approvals, quality, manufacturing times, and delivery compliance.
- Import coordination: Follow up on shipments and documentation with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs agents.
- Cost and profitability control: Negotiate competitive conditions and ensure compliance with established budgets and margins.
- Control and reporting: Keep information on purchase orders, products, costs, and progress updated through Excel and digital tools.
Requirements
Indispensable requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in international purchasing and product development.
- Verifiable experience with suppliers from China.
- Advanced English, conversational and written.
- Knowledge of fashion design, graphic design, or technical development of garments and accessories.
- Experience in interpreting and managing technical sheets, samples, and production processes.
- Knowledge of cost negotiation, quality control, and import monitoring.
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Ability to manage different projects and purchase orders simultaneously.
- Desirable: Experience in the fashion and garment sector, use of Illustrator, Photoshop, and artificial intelligence tools.
