System Architect (Finastra Global PAYplus, contract)

Overview

On behalf of our client, we are looking foran experienced System Architect to lead solution design, support development and integration activities, and provide Level 3 application support for critical payment systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Finastra GPP, payment processing systems and payment system integration, and will work closely with business users, project teams, and vendors to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable payment solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead solution design, support development and integration activities for Finastra Global PAYplus as part of payment transformation initiative project
• Provide L3 application support for critical payment systems
• Work closely with business users, project teams and vendors to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable payment solutions
• Coordinating daily integration builds between GPP, core banking ledger systems, sanctions screening software, and anti-fraud filters
• Validating technical design documents, database changes, and integration code generated by developers or system vendors
• Reviewing and approving emergency technical workarounds and standard code adjustments to prevent downtime during active business settlement hours
• Multi-Vendor & Stakeholder Alignment: Acting as the technical focal point between internal engineering leads, vendors, and platform integration partners

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience in solution design, application architecture, or system integration within banking or financial services.
• Mandatory: At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Finastra Global PAYplus (GPP), covering implementation, enhancement, upgrade, migration, or production support.
• Strong understanding of payment systems, including domestic, cross-border, RTGS, and real-time payments.
• Experience with ISO 20022 and SWIFT payment messaging standards.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Experience providing Level 3 production support for business-critical applications.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with business users, project teams, and vendors.

Preferred skillsets

• Experience with cloud platforms, container technologies, or DevOps practices.
• Experience in payment hub modernization or migration projects.
• Knowledge of payment schemes and networks such as FAST, PayNow, SWIFT, or other real-time payment systems.
