General Accountant (M/F)

About the company

We are looking for a Senior General Accountant (M/F) for our client, an international group and major player in the retail sector, for a permanent position (CDI) located in Paris.

Your tasks

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will take charge of the general accounting for several entities and actively participate in the production of reliable financial information in compliance with standards and deadlines.

As a true technical expert, you will support the team on a daily basis and act as a backup for the Accounting Manager during absences.

Your main missions will be as follows:

• Ensure the maintenance of general accounting up to monthly and annual closings
• Participate in the preparation of month-end closings
• Perform inventory entries (provisions, FNP, CCA, depreciation, etc.) and carry out account reconciliations
• Ensure the monitoring of fixed assets and the calculation of depreciation
• Participate in the preparation of tax returns in connection with external consultants
• Contribute to the Group's financial reporting and the production of accounting statements
• Participate in audit work by preparing the elements requested by the Statutory Auditors
• Be proactive in improving accounting processes and strengthening internal controls
• Accompany and support team members on technical subjects and ensure the coordination of activities in the absence of the Accounting Manager.

Requirements

With higher education in accounting (minimum DCG), you have at least 5 years of experience in general accounting, ideally acquired in an international environment.

You master accounting closings, if possible IFRS standards, as well as the main tax issues related to general accounting.

A fluent level of English is indispensable for the position, as is proficiency in SAP.

What we offer

45,000 EUR to 52,000 EUR over 12 months depending on skills and experience + profit-sharing
