Service Technician (Electrical)

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and functional testing to ensure electrical equipment operates safely and reliably.
• Diagnose electrical faults and equipment malfunctions using appropriate testing instruments and troubleshooting methods.
• Carry out wiring, cable termination, component replacement, and other electrical repair works according to technical requirements.
• Assist engineers with equipment installation, commissioning, testing, calibration, and onboard service activities.
• Perform installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment, instruments, gauges, sensors, and associated systems.
• Interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to support troubleshooting and maintenance work.
• Inspect electrical components and identify defective parts requiring repair or replacement.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize equipment breakdowns and operational downtime.
• Maintain proper records of servicing activities, fault findings, repairs performed, and replacement parts used.
• Observe established safety procedures while working at customer sites, onboard vessels, shipyards, and other operational environments.

Requirements

• Minimum NITEC in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Relevant hands-on experience in electrical servicing, maintenance, installation, or troubleshooting is advantageous; candidates with suitable technical training may also be considered.
• Good understanding of electrical systems, wiring, electrical components, and the use of basic testing and measuring instruments.
• Able to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams, perform hands-on troubleshooting, and use common electrical tools safely.
• Responsible and proactive team player with good problem-solving skills, physical fitness for hands-on field work, and flexibility to work overtime or irregular hours when required.
