Marine Service Engineer- Instrumental

Responsibilities

• Perform onboard installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of marine instrumentation, gauges, sensors, and related equipment.
• Conduct testing, calibration, adjustment, and functional checks on instruments to maintain accurate and reliable equipment performance.
• Investigate and rectify faults involving marine instruments, sensors, electrical systems, and associated equipment.
• Service radar-type level gauge sensors, air-purge type level gauges, and other marine measurement equipment.
• Configure and update instrument software and equipment settings according to technical and operational requirements.
• Interpret electrical schematics, block diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical documentation to identify equipment faults.
• Determine defective components and recommend appropriate spare parts or replacements required for equipment restoration.
• Resolve challenging technical issues encountered during service assignments using systematic troubleshooting and sound electrical knowledge.
• Coordinate with senior engineers, vessel personnel, ship management, and shipowners while carrying out onboard service activities with increasing independence.
• Compile detailed service reports covering fault findings, work completed, corrective actions, and recommended replacement parts for submission to customers.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• 2 years relevant hands-on experience in instrumentation, electrical systems, gauges, sensors, equipment servicing, or a related technical field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems with practical capabilities in testing, calibration, adjustment, and troubleshooting of instruments and equipment.
• PC literate with the ability to work with instrument software, electrical schematics, block diagrams, technical manuals, and related documentation.
• Positive and independent working attitude with strong problem-solving abilities, physical fitness to work in tanks and harsh environments, and willingness to work overtime or irregular hours when required.
