Marine Service Engineer- Automation

Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of marine gauges, sensors, and instrumentation equipment onboard vessels, including tankers and LPG carriers.
• Perform testing, calibration, adjustment, and operational checks on instruments and equipment to ensure accurate and reliable performance.
• Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation faults and implement appropriate corrective measures to restore equipment functionality.
• Service and inspect radar-type level gauge sensors, air-purge type level gauges, and other related marine instrumentation products.
• Configure, load, and update instrument software and system settings in accordance with equipment and operational requirements.
• Analyze equipment faults using electrical schematics, block diagrams, technical manuals, and relevant service documentation.
• Identify defective components and determine suitable spare parts or replacements required to complete repair and maintenance activities.
• Resolve complex technical issues encountered during onboard assignments while progressively performing service work with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, vessel crew, ship management, and shipowners to facilitate efficient completion of service assignments.
• Prepare comprehensive service reports detailing equipment condition, fault findings, work performed, corrective actions, and recommended replacement parts.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Relevant practical experience in marine instrumentation and electrical systems is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, with hands-on capabilities in testing, calibration, adjustment, and technical troubleshooting.
• PC literate and able to work with instrument software, electrical schematics, block diagrams, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a positive and independent working attitude; physically fit to work onboard vessels, enter tanks and operate in harsh environments, with flexibility to work overtime and irregular hours when required.
