Estimator / Quotations Coordinator

Are you confident with numbers, comfortable using Excel and good at understanding detail?

Perhaps you already have some experience in estimating, pricing, quotations, commercial support or project coordination. Or you could be a numerically strong graduate looking for an opportunity to build a commercial career.

We are recruiting for an established and growing specialist services business in Salisbury, and they are open minded about the background of the person joining them.

This is a newly created role where you will learn how to understand client requirements, calculate costs and margins, prepare accurate quotations and help manage the process from initial enquiry through to approval and handover.

What will you be doing?

You will work closely with clients and colleagues to understand what is required and turn that information into accurate, commercially sound quotations.

Your role will include:

• Preparing quotations and estimates
• Working with pricing, costs and margins
• Using Excel and spreadsheets to analyse information
• Speaking with clients to understand their requirements
• Reviewing project and service information
• Managing quotations through to approval and handover
• Supporting wider commercial and operational activity
• Occasionally visiting client sites, with a company pool car available

Who could this suit?

The business is deliberately keeping an open mind.

You could currently be working as an Estimator, Junior Estimator, Quotations Coordinator, Pricing Assistant, Commercial Assistant, Project Coordinator, Sales Support Executive or in another role involving numbers, pricing or project work.

Experience within construction, engineering, building services, facilities management, manufacturing or another project or service based environment could transfer particularly well.

Alternatively, you might be a graduate with a strong numerical or analytical background who is confident with Excel and looking for an opportunity to learn.

You do not need previous management experience and you do not need to know everything from day one.

• Comfortable working with numbers and spreadsheets
• Confident using Excel and technology
• Commercially minded and naturally analytical
• Organised with good attention to detail
• Comfortable speaking with clients and colleagues
• Able to understand information and turn it into a clear, accurate quote
• Keen to learn and take on more responsibility over time
