Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled, reliable, and passionate Kitchen Staff member to join our Talavera team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen and will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of authentic Mexican dishes while ensuring quality, consistency, and proper presentation. The Kitchen Staff member will also assist with food preparation, maintain a clean and organized workspace, manage ingredients, and follow food safety and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Mexican dishes according to recipes and restaurant standards.
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing meats, sauces, salsas, and other ingredients.
- Follow recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistent food quality and presentation.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and proper food handling practices within the kitchen environment.
- Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and organization of ingredients.
- Monitor inventory and communicate when ingredients or supplies need to be replenished.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, workstations, and equipment.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene guidelines at all times.
- Work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Assist other kitchen team members as needed during preparation and service.
- Ensure all food is prepared and cooked according to quality and safety standards.
- Familiarity with Mexican cuisine, cooking techniques, and traditional ingredients is preferred.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.50 per hour
