At Symrise, the Taste, Nutrition & Health segment relies on its expertise and scientific research to offer its customers and partners unique and sustainable solutions based on natural ingredients in the fields of taste, nutrition, and health. With more than 100 sites in more than 40 countries, this segment serves the food industry as well as pet food and aquaculture manufacturers. It is structured into two divisions - Food & Beverage and Pet Food.

The Pet Food division offers product solutions and services to improve pet food palatability and acceptance, ensure their safety, and support animal health. To study food acceptance, feeding behavior, and the interactions between animals and owners, the division has four expert centers with approximately 1,000 dogs and cats in ownership.

Following the "closer, better" principle, Symrise Pet Food, within the Taste, Nutrition & Health segment, serves its customers from more than 30 sites worldwide.

Your missions

As Safety Manager, you play a key role in protecting people and developing a sustainable safety culture on site.

Reporting to the EMEA Safety Management, you drive and manage the safety management system, following a logic of continuous improvement and in consistency with the ISO 45001 standard and Group standards.

You define the safety roadmap, set objectives in connection with local and global challenges, and ensure their operational implementation on the ground, in close collaboration with the teams.

On a daily basis, you:

• Drive the safety management system and guarantee its regulatory and normative compliance,
• Analyze deviations from Group standards, propose and follow up on corrective and preventive action plans,
• Monitor safety performance indicators, ensure their analysis and regular reporting to Management,
• Organize and lead internal audits, inspections, and managerial safety visits (MSV),
• Act as the primary contact for external auditors, authorities, and staff representative bodies.

As true ambassadors of the safety culture, you lead safety meetings and routines, deploy awareness actions, and manage the regulatory training plan, playing a central role in the animation of the CSSCT.

On an operational level, you support teams in:

• Monitoring and updating risk assessments,
• Analyzing safety events and identifying root causes,
• Implementing continuous improvement actions, based on trend analysis and field feedback.

You are also the guarantor of safety documentation (procedures, instructions, materials) and the organization of emergency intervention plans.

In a cross-functional capacity, you ensure the link with the Operations Management across three distinct areas, in order to align safety challenges with the site's operational and industrial priorities.

Finally, you manage a small team, composed of a nurse and a training assistant, whom you support in the development of their skills and the structuring of safety practices.

Your skills

Coming from higher education specialized in industrial safety management, you have proven experience in a similar position, acquired in a demanding industrial environment. You fully master the ISO 45001 standard and the associated regulatory challenges.

Recognized for your natural leadership, you know how to demonstrate poise, assertiveness, and composure, including in emergency or high-stakes situations. Your professional posture, which is clear, fair, and transparent, allows you to establish a lasting climate of trust with all your interlocutors.

Equipped with excellent communication skills, you are comfortable with cross-functional management and know how to unite people without a direct hierarchical link. You adapt your discourse accurately to both field teams and management bodies, ensuring an effective link between the Group's strategic challenges and operational realities.

Organized and structured, you are able to prioritize, drive actions over the long term, and advance topics methodically, while remaining agile in the face of the unexpected. Your humility, loyalty, and listening skills make you a credible and respected partner.

Finally, your fluent English allows you to move easily in an international and multicultural environment, and to interact effectively with global interlocutors.
