This developer will assist our developers in improving our current application (Swile by Vee), seeking to integrate and improve practices, whether in a single line or in the overall architecture; autonomy is the sister of communication.

Being a Sr. Software Engineer at Swile means positively impacting the lives of our customers and users by making decisions based on data and ensuring the efficiency, stability, and performance of our applications. By translating product visions into software, we solve complex problems that enable a unique, stable, and functional experience for everyone.

As backend engineers, we work on applications such as REST APIs, dashboards, tools, and internal services that enable our customers and users to use their benefits flexibly, easily, and available whenever needed.

Main activities in the team 📈

Software Engineering

• Produce high-quality, documented, efficient, tested, and maintainable code
• Ensure and improve observability and monitoring in applications
• Focus on improving technical aspects of other members, standards, and overall team quality proactively
• Learn other programming languages if necessary
• Actively focus on improving the security, performance, and stability of applications
• Perform (and receive) quality code reviews for other team members

Design and Architecture

• Exercise technical influence by collaborating with evidence-based discussions and objective, simple solutions
• Propose architecture solutions by collaborating with and guiding other team members to ensure functional and non-functional requirements.

Execution and Result

• Estimate and plan delivery deadlines together with stakeholders and product deadlines
• Use existing solutions at Swile, ensuring convergence with global platforms
• Work with poorly defined or ambiguous requirements to better define solutions together with the product team, stakeholders, and other team members
• Create incremental solutions together with the product team aiming for continuous improvement and delivery of your applications
• Focus on automated and also E2E tested deliveries, ensuring the stability of applications
• Monitor and act on incidents in production applications

Leadership

• Lead projects ensuring deliveries within estimates
• Evolve team members technically by being a role model
• Participate in selection processes for engineers of the same level or lower

Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related fields, or similar practical experience Professional experience with software engineering in Java or Kotlin Experience in architecture and development of distributed systems Experience with technologies such as Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar Experience with relational and non-relational databases Knowledge of AI (Artificial Intelligence) tools Clear and effective communication skills Advanced/fluent English

Preferential requirements: Master's or Doctorate in Computer Science or related fields Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures Experience with gRPC, Protocol buffer or similar
