Strategic Buyer (Category Manager) for Swerock and Peab Asfalt Norden

We are now looking for a Strategic Buyer (Category Manager Segment) who wants to play an important role in our operations and contribute to driving and developing our business forward.

As a Strategic Buyer (Category Manager Segment) with us, you will have overall responsibility for the quality, development, governance, and follow-up of category work within one of the segments: Asphalt, Material Supply, or Concrete, for both mobile machinery and fixed plants in the Nordics. You will work closely with the Nordic machine managers and site managers within asphalt, material supply, and concrete production, as well as out in the field in projects within the business. An important part of your work will be to find new innovations, suppliers, and cost savings, and to develop the category and its strategy. A major focus will be on creating productivity, cost savings, and ensuring a safe and cost-effective supply chain.

Tasks:

• Find new innovations, suppliers, and develop the category strategy.
• Ensure a safe, cost-effective, and quality-assured supply.
• Create added value and savings through changed delivery and value chains.
• Conduct supplier audits.
• Drive strategic change and innovation through changed production methods.
• Assortment and cost analyses.

In your role, you will report to the Nordic Category Manager for Fixed Plants, who is part of the Nordic Procurement Management. The location can be Malmö, Göteborg, Stockholm, or wherever Peab has a local office. The position involves traveling 1-2 days a week within Sweden, the Nordics, and Europe. To support your development, you will have a mentor in your reporting manager.

We are looking for you who:

• Has a civil or university engineering degree, alternatively a qualified procurement education or other relevant higher education or vocational higher education.
• Has at least 3-5 years of experience as a strategic buyer, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
• Is analytical, structured, and has good communication skills.
• Has very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
• Has an interest in product, innovation, and sees opportunities.
• Experience in international procurement and technical competence is meritorious.
• Is skilled at communicating and creating relationships with internal “stakeholders” throughout the Nordic organization.
• The work, the progress, is created by you as a person together with production.

As a person, you are committed and goal-oriented, with good ability to take action and leadership qualities. You are business-minded and social, structured and problem-solving oriented, as well as technology-oriented and have knowledge of the supply chain.
