Senior Sourcing Professional – Solna

We are looking for an experienced and self-driven Sourcing Professional for a consulting assignment within industrial electrification. The role is suitable for you who have extensive experience in project-based procurement of direct materials and who enjoy driving supplier processes from requirement specification to finalized agreements and industrialization.

About the assignment 🔎

As a Sourcing Professional, you will play a central role in the work with supplier selection, procurement, negotiations, and industrialization of mechanical components. You are responsible for ensuring cost-effective supplier solutions that meet the projects' technical requirements, schedules, and overall category strategies.

The assignment is carried out in an international industrial environment with research, development, and prototyping activities in Stockholm, as well as serial production in Poland.

You will work closely with functions within Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Project Management, and report continuously to those responsible for project purchasing and category purchasing.

Have long experience in direct material procurement within manufacturing industry, with particular expertise in mechanical components such as sheet metal, castings, and welded structures.

You are accustomed to independently driving sourcing processes, managing supplier relationships, and conducting commercial negotiations. You have a good understanding of how purchasing decisions affect production, quality, costs, and delivery capability.

As a person, you are structured, proactive, and communicative. You thrive in a dynamic project environment, collaborate effectively with different functions, and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

Tasks 🔧

• Collect project-specific requirements and prepare RFx documentation in line with existing category strategies.
• Conduct supplier evaluations and audits, including non-disclosure agreements, sanctions screening, and regulatory compliance.

• Represent the business in supplier meetings and coordinate sourcing activities with engineering, production, supplier quality, and project management.
• Responsible for supplier and contract negotiations with a focus on costs and schedules.

• Drive internal approval processes through relevant purchasing forums and decision committees.
• Negotiate, finalize, and implement supplier agreements according to internal guidelines and contract templates.

• Drive and follow up on suppliers' industrialization activities, including project management, change management, and escalations.
• Ensure regular project follow-up and report progress to Project Purchasing Manager and Category Manager.

Mandatory requirements ✅

• Relevant bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, business administration, law, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in sourcing and procurement of direct materials, with expertise in mechanical components such as sheet metal, castings, and/or welded structures.

• Solid experience of the entire sourcing process, including procurement, contract negotiation, and contract signing.
• Experience from manufacturing industry, the industrial sector, or the automotive industry.

• Good knowledge of PLM systems, for example Siemens Teamcenter.
• Good knowledge of ERP systems, for example Microsoft Dynamics 365.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.

Meritorious requirements ⭐

• Experience from the battery industry.
• Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot.

• Experience of integrating AI support into existing processes and working methods.

Assignment information 📍

Location: Solna, Stockholm

Scope: 100 % (full-time)

Start date: Immediately

Assignment length: 4 months (overall indicated period 4–6 months)

Remote setup: 3–4 days per week on-site in Solna, with some flexibility.
