Business Controller within R&D – Södertälje

We are looking for an experienced and business-oriented Business Controller for a consulting assignment in Södertälje. You will become part of an international controlling organization that supports the operations within Research & Development.
The role combines operational controlling with strategic business support. You will work closely with management and other decision-makers with financial planning, follow-up, analysis, and steering. The operations are simultaneously undergoing a major change in working methods, systems, and roles, where you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the future financial management model.

You are an experienced Business Controller who enjoys being close to the operations and can translate financial information into relevant decision-making material. You work in a structured and analytical manner, while also being comfortable in a changing environment where all processes and solutions are not always fully defined.
You have a good ability to collaborate with both financial and non-financial stakeholders and can communicate financial issues clearly at different organizational levels.
Tasks 🔍
Drive and support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting work.
Conduct financial analyses, reporting, and follow-up.
Work with financial closing processes and KPI follow-up.
Support management and operations in strategic and financial decisions.
Analyze and contribute to the steering of cost development.
Produce clear decision-making material and presentations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and management functions in a global organization.
Contribute to the development and implementation of future working methods, processes, and models within controlling.
Mandatory requirements ✅
At least 5 years of experience in Business Controlling or an equivalent controlling role.
Master's degree in finance, business administration, industrial engineering, or equivalent.
Documented experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting.
Experience in supporting or working closely with management teams.
Experience with closing processes, KPI follow-up, and performance management.
Experience in cost control and financial support during strategic business decisions.
Experience in collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and management functions.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Good knowledge of Power BI.
Very good English in speech and writing.
Strong analytical ability as well as good familiarity with systems and data.
Merit requirements ⭐
Experience with SAP.
Experience from an international or global operation.
Swedish in speech and writing.
Experience of controlling within Research & Development or another complex product development environment.
