SAFETY OFFICER

Job Summary

Manage Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Committees and coordinate security operations to ensure compliance with ISO45001, bizSAFE, and regulatory requirements. Support site inspections, audits, and promotional activities to maintain a safe and secure work environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and organize WSH Committees by conducting inspections, audits, training, promotions, and information circulation to enhance workplace safety
• Write reports within specified timeframes to document safety and security activities and compliance status
• Coordinate daily security operations, facility compliance, and management system adherence to maintain a secure environment
• Assist in ensuring compliance with ISO45001 and bizSAFE standards through monitoring and support activities
• Support site-related matters including organizing meetings and facilitating inspections or audits by customers or government agencies
• Organize and coordinate promotional activities to raise awareness of safety, health, and security initiatives

Required competencies and certifications

• Demonstrate knowledge of Workplace Safety & Health Act, ISO45001, ISO14000, and Security Management Systems to ensure regulatory compliance
• Ability to conduct site visits to locations such as Tuas Area and Jurong Island for safety and security assessments

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Diploma or SSHE-related field with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience
• Possess strong interpersonal, report writing, communication skills, and ability to work independently or as a team player
• Knowledge of environmental sustainability, waste management, monitoring, and promotion to support broader safety initiatives
• Experience in building fire protection systems and managing fire and emergency programs
• Experience in Business Continuity Management (BCM)
• Fire Safety Manager certificate as an added advantage
