for the job position of

Manager of the subsection for server systems, computer network infrastructure, computer equipment and user support*(IT advisor), 1 executor, full-time, indefinite period**

Requirements:

• completed university undergraduate study or university undergraduate study and university graduate study or university integrated undergraduate and graduate study from the technical field - computer science or electrical engineering or from the natural sciences field - mathematics
• at least 4 years of work experience
• at least 2 years of work experience in corresponding jobs
• communicativeness, professionalism and a high level of independence in work
• knowledge of working on a personal computer
• knowledge of the English language.

Job description:

• manages, coordinates work and ensures the efficiency of employees in the Subsection for server systems, computer network infrastructure, computer equipment and user support
• analyzes needs for the procurement of servers, computer network infrastructure and computer equipment
• performs tasks related to the expansion and maintenance of server and computer network infrastructure and computer equipment, in both technical and financial terms
• takes care of physical servers and virtual servers
• prepares technical specifications for the procurement of servers, computer network infrastructure and computer equipment
• participates in the selection and supervision of delivery, handover and establishment of servers, computer network infrastructure and computer equipment, according to the institution's plan
• monitors activities, results, suggestions and needs of the department and cooperates with other organizational units and users
• participates in activities of planning, development and maintenance of the Rectorate's access network to the public network
• takes care of secure data storage
• informs users about server operation problems
• creates and installs security certificates and takes care of their renewal
• monitors and implements activities according to the requirements of SRCE, CARNet and AAI@EduHr systems
• cooperates with CARNet on promoting and enabling the efficient use of CARNet resources and new information technologies available in the institution
• performs tasks of a CARNet system engineer
• performs tasks of an LDAP directory administrator
• performs tasks of an Office365 platform administrator
• cooperates with the University Computing Centre of the University of Zagreb (Srce) on promoting and enabling the efficient use of Srce services
• encourages the application of new information technologies in the core activities of the institution
• participates in tasks of establishing and expanding and supervising the operation of user support systems for computer-communication infrastructure
• documents activities related to the management of computer-communication and information infrastructure
• performs other tasks by order of the rector, competent vice-rector, chief secretary and immediate manager.

Probationary work: lasting 6 months.

Along with a hand-signed application, candidates are obliged to attach:

• CV
• proof of citizenship
• copy of diploma
• proof of work experience (electronic record of employment from the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute, copy of the employment booklet or other appropriate certificate)
• proof of knowledge of the English language (copy of index, high school certificate, certificate or appropriate confirmation)
• proof of knowledge of working on a computer (copy of index, high school certificate, certificate or appropriate confirmation)
• other appropriate certificates.

For candidates applied to the competition who meet the formal requirements, a check of knowledge, abilities and skills essential for performing the job duties and/or an interview may be conducted.

In case the aforementioned checks are conducted, candidates are obliged to undergo them, otherwise they will be considered to have withdrawn from the application to the competition.

A person who has not submitted a timely and regular application or does not meet the formal requirements of the competition is not considered a candidate applied to the competition.

By applying to the competition, candidates expressly agree that the University of Split may use, collect and process data for the purpose of conducting the competition procedure in accordance with Articles 13 and 14 of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) and legal regulations.

A regular application is considered an application that contains all data and attachments as stated in the competition.

The right to submit an application to the competition is held equally by persons of both sexes.

Candidates who, based on special regulations, invoke the right of priority in employment, are obliged in the application to the competition to invoke that right and attach all evidence that special regulations determine for the exercise of that right. Such candidates achieve priority in employment compared to other applicants only under equal conditions.

Untimely and incomplete applications will not be considered. Candidates will be informed of the results of the competition within 8 days from the day the Decision on Selection is made.
